About

My name is Tammy Johnson and I was born in Great Lakes, Illinois on June 8,  1966 (that makes me 46 years old at the time I wrote this).  I live in the quaint little town of Ozark, Missouri which is just south of Springfield.  I have a husband, Steve, whom I love more now than the day I married him (almost 23 years ago) and we have three beautiful and uniquely different children.  Jamie, our oldest at 21, who is going to be a senior this year at Drury University in Springfield and Ashley, who is 18 and will begin her sophomore year at Washington University in St. Louis.  And then our precious Jacob, who turned 10 last December.  We always said if kids were cars, Jamie would have been a Volvo, cautious and methodical and too “safe” to sometimes be daring.  Ashley would have been a Ferrrari, always moving and eager to appear sleek and fashionable.  And Jake would have been a tuner car, something that can be customized based on what is going on at the time.  We love each one of them deeply and without reserve.

I have spent the last 30+ years in the hospitality industry (hotels and tourism) and most recently have had the great pleasure of working with the Milton family at their assortment of companies including Branson Tourism Center, Branson.com and their latest venture, Main Street Marina.  The time I have committed to my career has been very fulfilling, both for me and for our family.  The experiences I have been so fortunate to have had while working in hospitality have provided even more insight into my own faith and have enhanced my life experiences to the point that I have full confidence in the fact that Jesus Christ is the Savior sent to this earth to fulfill a debt that we, as humans, had no hope of ever paying.  The people I have met, the individual experiences and instances I have encountered have only confirmed what we all intuitively know deep inside.  That God has provided us with an understanding of what patient and kind is although we all struggle in actually trying to be those things.  It goes against our very nature to display those characteristics on an ongoing basis.

This blog is intended to share the insights, the stories, the books, the songs and sometimes the individual life experiences that I have had that might help in shoring up those parts of our soul that truly desires to be patient and kind but doesn’t have the first clue of what that actually looks like.
